"Product OK - Support is a Nightmare" on by jjanek23
Pros: Nice Screen
Cons: Loaded with tons of Add On Products/Freeware/Spyware. Support is worse experience ever. ....
Summary: If you have to call HP Support MAKE SURE your Phone Battery is FULLY charged because you are going to be the phone for a LONG LONG Time.... I am very IT savvy and knew that I had a bad wireless LAN card but I had to jump through every single hoop including reimaging my PC and then had to ship it off for 3 weeks..... Over a two day period, I spent 12-15 hours working with HP troubleshooting the issue (I was on hold for 8 hours of it). I was told by the HP Tech that I had to do every troubleshooting step before they would do a replacement..... I lost 12 hours of my Life and my PC for 3 weeks .... all for a $15 part that I could have replaced myself.

"Run flawless, fast and powerful" on by brhokla
Pros: The Looks, the screen, the power for the money, Windows 7, HDMI + More
Cons: A little over 5 lbs, Could be thinner but with a DVD RW I can forgive them, Comes with too many trial versions crapware. I deleted all this.
Summary: A very strong computer that is just about right in what I was looking for. I like the AMD Processor, 4 gigs ram, 320 GB 7200 rpm HD, HDMI, looks and Windows 7 64 bit runs like a champ on it.

"HP Never Again...If you do buy the warranty" on by jver62
Pros: Looks like a good deal. But you know the sayin
Cons: Product reliability
Summary: Purchased this laptop (dv4-2045dx) at Best Buy for my daughters graduation present. Now 15 months later the Lcd screen died. After an hour long phone conversation with HP support which resulted with.. pay $300 to repair or your out of luck. The laptop only cost $550 to begin with. Luckily I will be able to do the repair myself, but thats not the point a laptop screen should last longer then 15 month's. I am currently looking for a new laptop for myself and it won't be a HP.

"Low-quality hardware and customer service is even worse" on by liberallady91
Pros: Good size to use on your lap
Cons: I purchased mine on Jan. 3, 2010 for around $600. In July, it wouldn't work and had to be shipped out, turns out the motherboard needed replacing. Then in March (14 mos after purchasing) the hard drive crashed, and guess what: it was out of warranty. HP c
Summary: I would advise against purchasing this HP model, and I'll be steering clear of all HP products in the future.
