  • "This computer is amazing, cnet has flaws in the review"

Pros: I'd say above average performance, not below. This computer has so much power compared to the tame AMD sempron 3000+
    Multi-tasking is so much easier
games & hi-def video and hi-resolution pictures look amazing on the screen.

Cons: Bloated crapware must die !! On first boot, the crapware slowed startup to a crawl. grrr!

Battery life is ok in vista. (try linux or xp)

the keyboard/touchpad/touch controls take a little getting used to.

Summary: The cnet review is incorrect in many ways. Bluetooth is an option, so is firewire and N wifi. I dont know where this cnet reviewer got the idea that these were not available.

I got almost the exact config cnet reviewed for $688 ( i got a smaller hdd, thats the only difference)
I love it! Runs linux (ubuntu) very very fast
xp, still figuring that out, will update soon
vista, it seems to run very well on 3 gigs of ram.
Once removing the bloat and waiting for the defrag to finish, vista runs well.
Boot times are slow tho, i don't mind that much. Linux helps me solve that problem.

Linux extends battery life significantly. Xp gives about 1.5-2 times that of vista (depends on what i'm doing)
And I have a 12 cell battery for it already, so i've got plenty of juice whenever i need it.

virtual machines run so much better, i can run 2 operating systems at once and they both are unhindered in performance

Humid environment- keep a small washrag to wipe the touchpad/ your fingers every so often. Slimy touchpads aren't the best to work with

The cpu vent could have been designed a little better to keep the cpu cooler.

I'd recommend this laptop to anyone that is looking for lots of multimedia power for a great price.
