"Nice laptop at a nice price." on by supersoulfly
Pros: 1. Customizable. I was able to get exactly what I wanted.
2. Upgraded GPU (hd 6770m) has good gaming performance.
3. Reasonable price.
4. Good audio.
5. Build quality is better than expected.
6. Runs cool and quiet.Cons: 1. There's an HP logo that lights up on the lid of the laptop when it is turned on (much like an apple laptop). Can't figure out how to turn it off.
2. A bit bulky. It's a full size 15" so don't be surprised.Summary: I'm pretty pleased with the HP. No buyer's remorse at all. Compared quite a bit and feel I got a good deal. It does everything I want. The i5 is really impressive. The upgraded 6770m GPU is well worth it if you want to game. Been getting 35fps on Crysis 2, highest settings, 1024 x 768 resolution (it's connected to my 42" plasma). If you are interested, check out the HP site and customize a build for yourself. Might be a good fit for you too.
Configuration: cpu i5 2410m, gpu 1gig HD 6770m, 1TB hdd, 8gig RAM -
"Really? Three years" on by robber364
Pros: You were probably confused, that's all
Cons: You did make an unfairly damning review
Summary: The reason i am posting all this in reply is because you have the wrong laptop. This model was released this year, so you couldn't have had it for three years. You are probably referring to an older model.
I meant 2 years. i am talking to you dtnguyen02. if you are going to review, get the right laptop page, because currently, all you are doing is tanking the user rating averages of a perfectly good laptop.

"Best laptop for it's price" on by Wrong_Number
Pros: 2nd gen processors, great graphics cards, above average RAM standard (6gb), big hardrive 640gb, finger print reader (for loging in to windows and website accounts) durable sturdy construction overall, fairly slim design, beats audio, island style keyboard
Cons: Switchable Graphics are gimmicky(uses integrated graphics by default on games)difficult to get dedicated graphics as of yet (for me anyway)seems to be more of an AMD created problem, HP charges $25 extra to change the color of the laptop, Build and shippi
Summary: I think this is the best laptop in its price range it's very sturdy and has many options, generous amount of RAM and hardrive space, it's fast and has all the ports you would need. The biggest drawback to this computer and the reason why I gave it 4 stars is the switchable graphics, I found it to be difficult to try to get the dedicated graphics card to work. The software called Catalyst Control Center that is supposed to let you manage your graphics cards is generic, limited and pretty much useless. I would recommend getting the steel gray color as it looks much more elegant than the dark umber hp puts as the standard color, Their stock photo of steel gray does not do it justice. "Quad Edition gives the dv6 series some justice" on by jayhawkpride12
Pros: 2nd gen Intel quad core
8 GB RAM,
Radeon 6770 graphics
Integrated finger scanner
Steel Gray finish, I agree with the above review, it is very sleek
Beautiful display (1080p)
Blu-ray
Bluetooth
decent size for okay mobility, nothing compared to the 17 iCons: Battery promises 5.5; get about 4
No lighted keyboard
HP sends Windows 7 bloated with useless HP software and NO recovery CD
Plastic bottom is a little disheartening compared to metal finish
SSSLLLOOOWWW recharge it seems likeSummary: FINAL WORDS: If you can get a good deal, this computer is well worth the price. Basically a desktop replacement with a little more mobility. Full keyboard is a nice feature on a 15.6 model. Overall I have been very pleased

Pros: Out of the box everything worked wonderfully. For one month. This model worked for 13 months.
Cons: Worked one month and died. Upgraded to this new model. Lasted 13 months and fan and battery died.
Summary: These laptops were treated with care and gently used. My last laptop lasted 3 years. After two tries no more hp products.
