"Good desktop replacement"
Pros: Full size keyboard, 17" screen, lots of ports
Cons: Weight, Altec-Lansing instead of Harman Kardon
Summary: Yes it has only 128MB of video RAM...but the reviewer failed to mention that it also has technology that allows it to use another 128MB of system RAM for video for a total of 256MB. Load this thing up with 2GB of RAM, a 5400RPM hard drive instead of 4200RPM and the ML-40 CPU and it will score much better that what the reviewer reports. Plus it's 64 bit OS ready.

So what if the card has 128mb of ram and can leach another 128mb of ram from the system?? My GeForce 6800 OC in my desktop has only 128mb of ram (purchased Nov. 2004) but I guarantee you it will outperform that ATI X200 anyday by a large margin. It is not the ram on that card that makes a difference, it is the clock speed and bandwidth. For instance, there is 64bit, 128 bit, and 256bit. The Geforce 7600 Go (read: Mobile) is 128bit while the GeForce 7800 Go is 256 bit. The calculations the card can handle are much more important than the texture memory included. Also, having it leach memory from the system will only slow the PC down, not speed it up, as there is a difference between the speed of the GPU memory and the system RAM.
