"No wonder they were on sale!" on by downtownsf
Pros: For $1400 you get a gaming graphics card and a HD screen but...
Cons: the touch bar is the worst piece of junk in the world, as I'm typing this the treble bar is going up and down the wifi is turning on and off and the screen is being blocked by the window!
Summary: There is nothing you can do about the touch bar, update driver check, clean it check, discarge all static electricity check. You can send it back to the factory but look up all the forums with people who have done that and you'll see it was a waste of time. No wonder they were on sale and no wonder they don't sell them anymore and you can't find reviews on them on the HP website, because they're the biggest rip off in HP history. They knowingly sold them with faulty touch bars, check out all the complaints online. I'm never NEVER buying HP ever again. I want to throw this laptop in the trash so bad but I'm a student and need it to write reports. Once I can afford a new one I'm taking a sledge hammer to this thing.

"Two hardware problems in 4 months" on by rodrigoluna
Pros: Classy, powerful laptop.
Cons: First, the mouse pad stopped working and got replaced. Then, the laptop started to turned off (no shutdown) as self-protection at least once a week due to overheating; each time my data got corrupted, the solution was to replace the system board.
Summary: Bad product quality (even CNET reported it). HP tech support is good though.

"Excellent performance" on by sailorjt1985
Pros: This computer was way before its time, the only thing I have done was improve the processor and graphics card and it is running as good as most new laptops.
Cons: The only thing I think HP could have done better was create a better battery that lasts longer.
Summary: All in all I believe this product was worth the price if not more. Very pleased with the way that it performs and actually am very happy with its sleek design.

"Great laptop worth the price." on by Filipinofryrice
Pros: - Back lit Keyboard
- Powerful graphics car
- Portable
- Looks good
- Runs like a beastCons: - Media player touch button only links to HP MediaSmart (other keys can be used in iTunes)
Summary: So when I first was looking for a laptop I knew I wanted one that could handle any programs I'd use in college (future IT major) and then handle games since I do play video games a lot. I first found a Gateway laptop but after I went through 4 of those, all getting BSOD and GeekSquad couldn't say what was wrong on any of them. I decided to look else where. A clan-mate of mine posted up that he was getting a new Gaming Laptop. His was the 18-inch version of this. I really didn't want to get one that big but looked on their site to see if they had models smaller that were almost as powerful and cheap, then I found it. It runs absolutely amazing. It handles any game I've thrown at it. Crysis ran on all high at native resolution and Crysis WARHEAD ran on gamer, with native resolution on. (VSYC off on both) It can multitask very well with 4GB DDR2 Ram.
My configuration:
Vista 64-bit (actually I like it)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
4 GB DDR2 Ram (2 Dimm)
320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M
16.0" diagonal High Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display (1366x768)
LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
Webcam + Fingerprint Reader with HP Imprint Finish
Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card
Full Size Backlit Keyboard
12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (going to get a 6-cell soon)
3-year HP Accidental Damage Protection with HP Pick Up and Return
That's about a $1600 set up but is well worth it with the 3 year accidental damage protection. Also, if your looking to buy it look online for codes I found one that got me a few hundred dollars off (which is all ways GREAT).
All in all I've never had any problems at all with this computer. I rate it a perfect 5/5 stars. Also, there's not much crapware preloaded.
