"Great price, great laptop so far." on by murf
Pros: Price, Video ram (128mb) AMD 64 speed, Display and upgrade ability
Cons: Battery not long enough but very good for my use
Summary: As advertised a great desktop replacement. I shopped around and compared many laptops before I purchased this Laptop from a military vender at a very good price with standard $50.00 rebate. This is my first AMD64 powered PC and it's speed is as fast a my HP desktop Intel P-4 2.66MZ. HP again has provided a good to excellent product.

"A wonderful deal for the money!" on by shenda
Pros: AMD 64bit processor, DVD RW+Double layer support, Dedicated video memory.
Cons: Very bulky and heavy once carried with accesories.
Summary: If anyone's considering buying this laptop you better not think twice.Everywhere I go this thing's usually out of stock. I grabbed one while I could and 3 months later I still have no regrets. Go check it out at you nearest Circuit City and you'll be impressed.

"Incredible performance, incredible value" on by shallmann
Pros: Athlon 64 performance, DVD burner, media card reader
Cons: media card reader doesn't accept compact flash
Summary: Not as light as some laptops, but it doesn't bother me a bit. I got mine at Office Depot as they had half off all options. For $1,050 after rebates I got an Athlon 64 +4000, 1 GB memory, 100 GB hard drive, 128 MB dedicated video, XP Pro, the better 12 cell battery, basically most of the hardware options. The Athlon processor would almost be worth the price without all the extras. Blazing speed and performance. Definitely spend the extra money for the 12 cell battery. My wife has the same computer with the 8 cell and it lasts about half as long.

"Great small budget laptop!" on by fredocorleone
Pros: Fast AMD processor, nice screen, loud speakers (once you update drivers!) 12 cell battery lasts 3.5+ hours.
Cons: Heavy, fans on bottom can get obstructed on cloth and become noisy and very warm, AC adapter is a brick!
Summary: If you buy this please update the video driver from the HP site (must register). The screen is even more brighter and vivid once you do this!
Speakers just aren't loud enough at first: you definitely should update the driver...
Update the sound driver select: control panel>sounds... then update driver once there. Your speakers will be 3x as loud!!! You can now watch DVDs and listen to music very comfortably once you do this!
Once you update these drivers you will love this media machine!Updated
select: control panel>sounds...>hardware>(highlight the audio driver)>properties>driver>update driver
Nice now, huh?
