HP Pavilion tx2000z

Pros: very fast, runs many programs well, little lag

Cons: runs pretty hot, battery life is alright, but not great.

Summary: This is an all around great computer, with pen capabilities definitely on par with Lenovo X61. It runs rather warmly, but it isn't really a problem. The battery life is probably a bit less than average on a notebook (about 3 hours) with the 6-cell battery.

I really like the active digitizer in this new model - it is a HUGE improvement over the tx1000's touch screen.

The design of the laptop is very sleek and the "echo" pattern is very appealing to the eye, but also subtle enough to keep the laptop professional.

The built-in buttons on the screen of the laptop do not do everything, so occasionally you need to open the computer to do things (like change sound volume - my biggest issue), but overall good.

The stylus clicks into the side of the laptop, but with only a little pressure it can be pulled out. Not really a big issue, but if you have the included tether attached to the stylus, it can get caught and pull the stylus from it's socket.

Speakers are decently loud, and always facing the user because they are built into the front-bottom of the screen.

The two headphone jacks are great too, for watching movies or listening to music with another person, like on a flight.

All around great computer, and my favorite laptop so far!
