Pros: 1. Serves all basic purposes expected of the gadget : I bought it sometime back in May 2007 at about Rs. 37,000. Still serves all the basic purposes (I'm not a game-geek).
2. Reasonably good battery life. : Had to change the battery in December of 2010, wCons: 1. The Screen's backlight : It has a dull yellow hue to it, which I hate, especially when I edit photos. The brightness is also not that great.
2. The speakers are ******! But with an earphone, the sound quality is excellent. It depends on the app you runSummary: I really think this laptop should come with a default Linux OS rather than all that ****** Windows OSs. Linux brings out the real potential of the equipment. Older customers like me would have judged this model based on the OS it came with, viz VISTA, which itself is the most hated Windows OS ever. Everything, from the touchpad smoothness to video experience, eye-candy fonts, PDF viewing experience and flash players have changed completely ever since I installed Ubuntu in this 3000 N200 model. Installing drivers has never been a problem too. The Model is very good for the price and may be a great choice for a small business owner or a professional. I have not tried how far the system supports all those 3D games, so I won't comment on that.

Pros: Honestly can't think of anything - I want to throw it out the window every time I use it- can't afford a new one, though, so I am stuck with it.
Cons: G,H, colon, ESC and up arrow all stopped working after 1 yr, had to replace the adapter after 1 yr. the touch pad will work for a few minutes, then stop responding.
Summary: The keyboard I can work around using an onscreen keyboard, the adapter I replaced, but today the touch pad started acting up. I am so annoyed I have to tell someone.

Pros: The Lenovo 3000 N200 has a nice display and keyboard. I bought the computer for home business use after having a ThinkPad at work (IBM). The price (through the employee purchase program) was good. Performance is acceptable most of the time.
Cons: The major "con" with this laptop is reliability. It will power off without warning. Online forums mention several other people having the same problem with no clear solution. The fan is loud & the laptop runs hot.
Summary: I would not recommend the N200 model. There are other laptops that are superior, even other Lenovos. Because of the problem with the laptop powering off at random times I have lost critical business data. It will shut off while I am in the middle of Quickbooks or Office work. It is unfortunate, because my laptop has seen very few hours of runtime. In addition, I like the display and the performance is reasonably good. Lenovo support hasn't been responsive (since the warranty expired) and I've read about several other people with similar cases in online forums so I don't believe this problem to be unique to my machine. I use the ThinkPad for my day job and am far more impressed -- quiet, fast, nice display and very reliable.
