"Superior Netbook that's a notebook/desktop replacement!"
Pros: Sturdy feel, best keyboard layout I've seen for a Netbook, ample storage (160GB), even available expansion through ExpressCard slot.
Cons: Fan comes on often, video card may be inadequate down the road, position of right-shift key takes getting used to.
Summary: This netbook has provided me with the benefits of a notebook I wanted, and serves as a desktop-replacement (you probably weren't expecting hear that!). I installed 2GB of RAM and Vista Ultimate runs great (scores a 2.6 rating for Windows Experience Index). Media applications and Office 2007 run just fine. The keyboard is very useable for touch-typing and has full-sized arrow keys I wanted (the trade-off of the right-shift key placement is woth it). The touchpad has the traditional surface I like (not sure what the surface is referred to, but it is not the slick, rough, or the new weird bumpy-patterned touchpad surface of most notebooks and Netbooks). The video card is just fast enough to play today's High-Def online TV shows, YouTube videos, and Netflix movies. And I do mean just fast enough (near 100% CPU usage, video will become choppy if another program is working in the background). This may become problematic as Internet video quality improves.
I wanted to see if a Netbook could replace my desktop and the Lenovo S10 has exceeded my expectations. I am now a believer and I believe this will be the new trend of computing -- why buy an expensive desktop you are tethered to, or an expensive notebook that is twice the size/weight/price when a Netbook performs over 90% of the functionality of what 90% of users use their computers for day-to-day.
