"Decent machine with horrible OS and tech support."
Pros: Sleek styling, Good performance for the money.
Cons: Windows Vista. Tech support is a joke and wanted to charge me for service after owning laptop less than one year. I needed OS installation CD's which don't come with machine due to one touch button feature that failed to work.
Summary: I bought Lenovo after much research that indicated the quality of their brand and tech support. My machine worked flawlessly until HD issue that required OS reload. Lenovo doesn?t include OS installation CD?s with their laptops because of the One Touch feature. This is an innovative feature that is completely useless if HD fails or if one decides to repartition C drive to increase space. Lenovo tech support tried to charge me for support because my laptops manufacturing date was past the one year of my service call. This was resolved by sending them a scanned copy of my POP but I had to send information multiple times because of their lack or inability to store service call data. Lenovo tech support took 14 days to ship OS installation disks to me after guaranteeing I would have them in 7 days. On the 8th day I called to check status and I was told my order was never processed with no explanation why. I?ve gone round and round with Lenovo explaining that I was using this machine for accelerated college studies and receiving the OS CD?s was crucial. In the end I was forced to drop my classes because I couldn?t make up the lost time and the end result I lost $700 to course withdrawal policies. It would have been more cost beneficial to purchase a new laptop especially now that Lenovo is offering free upgrades to Windows 7. I was a Dell fan prior to this Lenovo machine and I will go back to being a Dell fan when I purchase my next machine. Lenovo tech support is a Joke you?ve been warned check the BBB.
