The included six-cell battery on the 13-inch ThinkPad Edge, when subjected to our benchmark tests, lasted for 5 hours and 20 minutes. That's off from Lenovo's claim of 8 hours, but it's right on mark for what we'd expect from a dual-core ULV running continuous video playback. That's a good number, and the battery life should exceed that under lower-intensity work conditions and by adjusting power settings.
The ThinkPad Edge comes with a standard one-year warranty on parts and labor, and a one-year warranty for the battery. The warranty can be extended to two years for $59 or three years for $99, along with adding optional onsite and accidental damage protection (three-year onsite and accidental damage costs a total of $249 extra). Lenovo's Web site offers technical support, forums and driver downloads, and a 24-7 toll-free support phone number.
