"Loosing respect for CNET reviews, Excellent laptop" on by AVaddicted

    Pros: great entry-level business laptop

Cons: none at the price for a Lenovo

Summary: Seriously CNET, you are knocking a business laptop for having a "bland design". That's why I bought one and 4 of my friends have other Lenovos. It's business no one wants something that's flashy and fancy, just something that doesn't look like its 1999, and for some they may even want that.

In the past year or so I have noticed CNET's reviews have gone down hill, they're missing the demographic they are reviewing products for. And care more about design and features than overall performance. I swear the editors would be as happy as could be with a Bentley and a inline 4. C'mon CNET anyone that knows anything, at the end of the day it's all about performance, you're becoming like best buy, trying to sell me the one with the bells and whistles and not the one thats going to be still kickin it until I kick it.

"Just received my SL510..." on by tomhagen

Pros: Excellent keyboard, wonderful finger pad (a little small), great security, great config flexibility, slimmer & sleeker than I thought, ability to handle what I have thrown at it.

Cons: Still new... My version of a good laptop is one that can do everything I throw at it and stick around a while. Hopefully this is it.

Summary: I am a small NPO business user and home user, so I got this because it seemed to be easily configurable, so I got it decked out with 320 7200, 4GB, Intel P7570 and Office SB. I was afraid this would be a beastly machine and quite the contrary it is much sleeker in appearance and slimmer than I thought. I dig black and don't like the plastic-y feel - and this has a really solid build feel, though I have never had another Lenovo THinkPad (had an IBM a decade ago). So far it has been a breeze to use, WIn7 is great, I custom donwload a lot of freeware and it is doing the trick. We shall see how it fares in the long haul and I like the Lenovo security features. Typing and using this thing as desktop (mostly) is great as the keyboard and extra room to rest my wrist is great. It took a little getting used to the 16:9 screen, as I was working on aan old dell ispiron 2200 for 5 years , yet I find the matte screen, very vibrant and the I have grown used to the screen dimensions. I love the zoom capability to adjust the screen, a real necessity for the 16:9 and different applications & programs. I will keep you posted as the computer develops IY"H Plase share your take.

"Great Lenovo Product" on by CWeaverRun

Pros: Clean non-gimmicky design, great button layout for volume and indicator lights, and hands down the best notebook keyboard around.
    Outstanding customer service & support.

Cons: Price is generally pretty high.

Summary: I don't understand all the complaints about customer service. I've had my Lenovo for over 5 years and have had the best customer service ever. HD failed -> they mailed me a new, larger HD that I got in 3 days. Fan wearing out -> they had a technician at my apartment fixing in 2 days. DVD Drive busted -> they mailed me a replacement that i received in 2 days. Their customer service is great! My Lenovo is sturdy and reliable. I am rough on my notebook and it's still running strong over 5 yrs later.

I got my mom and sister this Lenovo notebook and they both love them. They're not having any problems at all.

"Great product with the classic Lenovo exterior" on by hilbertspaceisomorphism

Pros: Reliable, good build quality, nice keyboard, great specs are available, one of the cheapest ThinkPads

Cons: The 15in is average weight, it's not lighter than most 15.4 in or heavier either. So, it's a medium weight laptop.

Summary: I haven't had a problem with Lenovo products and will want to purchase an Edge once I find a cheap deal on Ebay or the Lenovo website. The SL410 is a great alternative if you want a lighter laptop but just as powerful and reliable with a good price tag.
