"Loosing respect for CNET reviews, Excellent laptop" on by AVaddicted
Pros: great entry-level business laptop
Cons: none at the price for a Lenovo
Summary: Seriously CNET, you are knocking a business laptop for having a "bland design". That's why I bought one and 4 of my friends have other Lenovos. It's business no one wants something that's flashy and fancy, just something that doesn't look like its 1999, and for some they may even want that.
In the past year or so I have noticed CNET's reviews have gone down hill, they're missing the demographic they are reviewing products for. And care more about design and features than overall performance. I swear the editors would be as happy as could be with a Bentley and a inline 4. C'mon CNET anyone that knows anything, at the end of the day it's all about performance, you're becoming like best buy, trying to sell me the one with the bells and whistles and not the one thats going to be still kickin it until I kick it.

I don't know why CNET bashes the trackpoint. Personally, I've never been able to use a track pad comfortably, and consider a trackpoint-like device absolutely essential, to the point that I *will not* buy a laptop without it. I paid a premium for an older Thinkpad ultralight that, while vastly underpowered by today's standards, is the one I travel with.

Who cares if a laptop is fast when it's a cheap piece of crap? It's not simply all about performance, that's quite a subjective statement. People are now more concerned about features and build quality, since even the most basic processor will serve most people just fine. I tend to stay away from Toshiba laptops, no matter how cheap and fast they may be simply for the fact that they look cheap and they keyboards flex the most. Who cares about speed when something you buy makes you look like you have no taste?

Sounds like you have an axe to grind, and your commentary would carry more weight were it not hobbled with spelling and grammatical errors.
