"Nice portable, poor screen"3.0 starson by sydcathoderay
Pros: Very light and portable and excellent keyboard. I've found it can handle mid-range photo editing [Lightroom] and some video work [Windows Live Movie Maker, Premiere Elements] quite well.
Cons: Runs very hot. The colour accuracy of the screen is very poor. Mine was very blue so having a hardware monitor calibration tool is essential to get accurate colours. The viewing angle is also poor. The Lenovo networking tool is terrible.
Summary: The hard-drive in mine is noisy on seeking and reading, which took a bit of getting used to but doesn't appear to affect the operation of the unit.
Some of the bundled Lenovo apps are terrible. The networking one in particular is brutal, sometimes taking over a minute to load, and often crashing, taking Windows Explorer with it. I don't know if they're too heavy for the system to load, or are just poorly-written but these apps which are meant to be a 'value-add' are best avoided. I disabled the networking app and went back to standard Windows 7 tools which work much better.
The Lenovo power control/power profile app also takes forever to load and can cause instabilities. Again, reverted to using the tools already in Windows.
Haven't been working on the road lately, so have been using the x100E as a media centre PC, hooked up to LCD TV via RGB connection. Works well with Windows Media Centre pulling content from my main Windows 7 desktop. Air Mouse Pro application turns my iPod Touch into a wireless trackpad/keyboard/controller to drive it all.
