"Best laptop I've owned in 20 years"
Pros: Fast processor, astonishingly fast SSD drive, silent - no fan nor drive noise, great screen, very light, GPS and WWAN-or-WiMax built in, good battery life, clean no-nonsense looks.
Cons: GPS slow acquiring signal, also fails with default GoogEarth. Had a Verizon WWAN account from last laptop; nightmare transferring that account to the Verzion chip in this one. Multiple calls to Verzion & Lenovo no help; Verizon finally got it done.
Summary: CNET's review doesn't mention that you can disable the touchpad to eliminate the problem they had with accidentally grazing its surface.
I've owned a lot of laptops and used many more. This is by far the nicest. Such a difference the SSD makes in speed. The silence of this laptop is eerie.
The only downside is two months after I bought it Intel came out with the quad-core laptop processors. Oh well, I knew it when I ordered it.
I rarely ever write product reviews but when a product is this good...

I don't work for Lenovo, and I completely agree with this review. The x301 is by far my favorite computer I've ever owned.

You must work for Lenovo. Anybody that owns a Lenovo knows they are nothing but headaches. Constant issues, slow performance, horrible customer service.
