"Great features, nice rotating screen, POOR Battery!" on by mikeroberts15
Pros: Great rotating screen allows customer presentations very effectively.
Cons: VERY Poor 8 cell battery. Nowhere NEAR 7-8 hours... more like 3 hours.
Summary: I bought this new state of the art laptop 2 weeks ago for 2 reasons... the ability to show presentations in true 8 1/2 x 11 format, and rotating "long" way screen allows me to do that. However, 2nd MAIN reason was chance to FINALLY have a laptop that runs "7-8 hours" to last a full day of presentations. The press on "7-8 hours" is a joke. The only way to get 8 cell battery to run anywhere near that long is to keep screen at level 0 or 1, which is unreadable to my clients... and to disable ALL networking cababilities of WIFI or PCMCIA Sprint card. With ANY of these things running, battery meter and real life experience shows 3-4 hours TOPS. This is actually LESS than 5 year old Toshiba Portege I've been using, running these same features. VERY disappointed that Lenovo markets this at 7-8 hours... borderline FRAUD if you can't actually do anything and acheive those levels. About to send system back.

"Its the age of CORE 2 Duo NOT Core Duo" on by Sam5271
Pros: Screen functionality, Battery Life, Fingerprint reader
Cons: Expensive, No Touchpad still, no Optical Drive, 1 year warrenty (Per Lenovo website) not 3 years,
Summary: Ok I guess that sums it up. Lenovo makes great laptops, but they don't seem to listen to users. Where is the Touchpad. with a powerful laptop I like a touchpad. Call me retro but I am used to it, and that rosy thing sticking like a (whatever) does not satisfy my needs.
Plus if Gateway started making their tablets Core 2 Duo several months ago, how come Lenovo is still behind on that. We all know it is much more superior than the older Core Duo. Warranty also went down to 1 year from 3 years in older models. Need I say more. We are certainly seeing a drop here in Lenovo Standards. For God's sake, I did not expect Gateways E285 to beat this in Benchmark tests.
I guess I am gonna pass this time on Lenovo, awaiting for their next innovative wake up call. Vista is coming soon, and it will need all the power of Core 2 Duo. -
"Lousy customer support" on by d4business
Pros: light weight; compact; excellent handwriting recognition
Cons: useless tech support; unable to permanently change default homepage; fingerprint recognition not 100%; great screen for tablet writing, but screen is "rickety" when being used in regular pc mode
Summary: Overall Lenovo's X60 table is great. Very lightweight and the handwriting recognition feature is excellent. Unfortunately, Lenovo's customer service is gosh awful. I called 3 times regarding the internet homepage which reverts back to the factory default Lenovo website at startup. Tech 1 resolutely informed me that he had no idea how to change a homepage (despite my walking him through it and asking if any of the steps sounded familiar); Tech 2 was kind enough to put me on hold as he attempted to locate a supervisor so that I could report Tech 1 who hung up on me after adamantly declaring that only Microsoft could assist me with changing a default homepage (call was inadvertently disconnected); Tech 3 also put me on hold while he attempted to locate a supervisor (I was heck bent on reporting Tech 1). The luxury of a speakerphone made me comfortably tolerant of the 47 minute hold, however, I was not so tolerant of the fact that a Supervisor never took my call. Admittedly, prior to this technical support debacle, I was pleasantly surprised when informed by the automated attendant that my call was being routed to Atlanta. During the ordeal, I actually welcomed overseas outsourcing for this particular lot. After a week of growing attached to my tablet pc, Lenovo's tech support caused me to regret my $1,800 decision.

"Has been a workhorse" on by ageorge98
Pros: Reliable--had it since early 2007 I think Clear screen, accurate reliable tablet function.
Cons: Needed a couple repairs. Fingerprint reader hasn't been real helpful.
Summary: Bought this in 2007 for someone else in my office, have been happy with it. Does what it's supposed to do. Decent speed, tablet works well, other features perform as intended. Carried in and out of exam rooms all day. Bought what I thought was a higher model later (x200) for myself, has been trouble. I did replace the hinge once--could have gotten it repaired fairly cheaply but didn't want to give it up. Had to take it apart to get the pen out once (don't ever put a broken pen in the unit!)
We bought an extra life battery for it, happy with that also. We charge intermittently (when at our desk), unplugged when in exam rooms, halls etc. Easily lasts all day that way.
I'm thinking of getting another x60 (refurb) as a backup (my X200 is threatening to quit)

"Simply Superb" on by re10268
Pros: built like a tank, sturdy, very good overall
Cons: none at the moment
Summary: This unit I have was bought from eBay. I previously own an x200 and I can tell well the difference of the built of the body of both. X60T in my observation feels very, very solid. Although it came with the 1.6 ghz as compared to my x200 with an 2.4 ghz, it still gets the work done. The digitezer pen and screen are very, very responsive. Very good for taking down notes or use for photoshop. This one didn't come with a camera, but I seldom use it anyway. The tablet buttons gives such a nice look on the screen. I'm very satisfied with the X60T.
