    "A little powerhouse for a 14-inch" on by Eddief47

Pros: The i5 in it is great, quick start up, quick shutdown, snappy response time. I have the Adobe CS4 Web Premium suite running on here, and it is surprisingly fast considering it's a laptop. Also, the 310 nvidia chip is awesome for light gaming.

Cons: Though the card is great for light gaming, it gets a little toasty even when it's not working too hard. The touch pad is a little small and hard to scroll with, but then again, I do have big hands. The battery life on here could also be a bit longer.

Summary: I work at Best Buy, so I see a lot of different laptops over a period of 6 months, but second I displayed this little machine, I had to have it. So far, I have yet to be disappointed. Another thing I didn't mention in the Pros section is the speakers, these small looking speakers are loud, and I love listening to music, so, good deal. Bottom line though, if you are looking for a small laptop with great performance, buy it. I have never had any problems with Samsung product, and this is what I love about them.

"You can't beat this little guy!!!" on by gazelledrp

Pros: 500gb HDD, 4gb DDR3, and an I5 processor!! I can't forget the 512mb dedicated graphics card either and decent battery life of 4hrs for me anyways.

Cons: A slight problem when I have moved the laptop on my lap the locking mechanism for the battery catches on my leg and turns the computer off. Has only happened twice in the 2 weeks I have owned it. I am just aware of how I move it on my lap.

Summary: I have been looking long and hard for a laptop that is light, comfortable on my lap, doesn't cause me to want to strip down due to the heat it pumps out and the Q430 was everything I was looking for. It stays cool and handles movies, games, and multiple apps with ease. If you are looking for something in a decent price range, has the power of a 15" laptop, stays cool, and has some room for upgrades then don't hesitate to buy this one.

"Best purchase of 2010" on by TexasWebDevelopers

Pros: Great design. Slim, rugged and light-weight. i5 processor is fast. Display is gorgeous! Simultaneously running video Skype, Office 2010 and Adobe CS5 without a hitch. At full cpu load the case is only warm. Backlit keyboard a nice touch.

Cons: I would have liked at least 1 gig of video memory instead of 512MB.

Summary: Although this purchase was for my (very picky) college-bound daughter, I will purchase these computers for myself and my web development company. This is really a great product!

"Good laptop but with a fatal flaw." on by Gazoo1000

    Pros: Great design.

Cons: Once the mouse pad was worn through I had it replaced. Two months later the same problem. I doubt Samsung will fix it again.

Summary: Great laptop, save for the mouse pad design flaw.

"This Laptop is amazing. Period." on by heythereitsv

    Pros: -Great keyboard
    -Nice bright display
    -Nice Graphics for mild gaming
    -i5 processor is a beast
    -Design is amazing
    -Very Maclike
    -Doesn't get hot very often
    -14 inch screen is perfect
    -Screen resolution is nice (1366x768)

    Cons: -Battery is short
    -Display settings are messed up
    -Could use bigger touchpad
    -Touchpad needs getting used to
    -Could use better graphics card
    -No Blu-Ray
    -No Bluetooth
    -Atheros Wireless isn't that good

Summary: For a user who needs this computer for some games, and web browsing, this is perfect. The built in WiFi card isn't great, but it's okay for web browsing. The finish and design gives this computer a very Mac like look, which looks great. By default, the display looks washed out and terrible, but if you tweak it a bit, it looks great. This display is very bright, almost as bright as a Mac Book Pro, if not as bright.

This thing is no slouch when it comes to gaming. It can handle minecraft with all graphic effects turned on, Skype, and 10-12 tabs open in Google Chrome with no lag. However, when screen sharing on Skype is turned on, it starts lagging. I can also run Call of Duty Black Ops with some graphic effects turned off at full speed, and with all graphics effects on at a slightly slower speed.

The laptop itself is very sturdy, however, the cover is prone to fingerprints, and the laptop gets dirty quite easily. The components are solid, and nothing on this thing has failed me. The DVD burner refused to burn once, but that was due to the DVD's being corrupted and already having data on them.

All the parts on this laptop are VERY OSx86 friendly ;) In fact, I'm typing this from Snow Leopard.

I do despise the partition scheme that came with my laptop, I only had 100GB of room for Windows, I would much rather have ~150GB of room, and that drive is nonexpandable. Also, all 4 partitions are already used up on this machine. I would've wiped it and started fresh, but it doesn't come with a Windows 7 install disk, and Windows 7 is essential for me. The hard disk space is impressive, at 500GB for such a small machine.

One nice surprise is that there is a surprisingly low amount of bloatware on this laptop. Very nice. However, there is a lot of stuff set to startup on startup, I'd suggest cleaning it up.

All in all, I'd suggest this laptop to anyone. Except for the heavy gamer, and anybody who needs bluetooth.
