"Sweet laptop."
Pros: Most functionality per pound hands down.
Cons: Keyboard & pointing device not so much.
Summary: My goal in choosing a laptop was to get the most functionality for under 4 pounds. The great specs of the M4000 tell the story so I won't dwell on them.
It's probably more useful to list the cons:
In my opinion, the keyboard feels a little cheap, although tolerable.
The touchpad and touchpad buttons are definitely too small, as stated in the review.
Hard drive runs at 4200 rpm, which is unfortunate but forgivable in an ultraportable.
No Bluetooth, no Firewire, no S-Video out, and also, no DVD burning capability. Unfortunate but also understandable given its weight class. Nevertheless each of these features will be sorely missed at different specific points in this laptop's lifetime, I'm sure of that.
Nonetheless, I love this laptop and feel like it makes the *least* compromises (namely, system speed, screen size, battery life, optical drive, etc.)for a sub-4-pound notebook at this point in time. Which is saying a lot, I think.
