Cons: I have only had this computer 6 months, the CD rom went out first, next the SD drive stop working, the power button is very flimsy feel like it going to come off. The computer is the worse laptop I have ever had.
Summary: Being that I use my laptop for work, and I travel all the time , I constantly on my laptop. however I never play CDs or DVDs on my laptop . I only put a CD in my laptop to load music on my Itunes. well after 1 month and half the CD rom went out.. I had not taken the computer back to Best Buy because I need it for work and I do not have a back up . Well now I having problems with the SD drive not reading cards when i put them in it, When the computer start up it seem like the hard drive is about to go out , you can hear the hard drive spinning.. I am at my wits end with this computer , I going to take it back to Best Buy, because now I have saved enough money to buy another computer while this piece of junk get worked on. This is my third Sony Vaio in 3 years..the last lap top I took back to best buy, Sony told best buy to just junk the computer out , honor the warranty replacement I purchased..I feel that is whats going to happen with this one. In my opinion.. Sony is overrated, they use to put out a good product in the early 90's but i feel all their products are now mass produced , and they put out a lot of defective equipment.. STAY AWAY FROM SONY PRODUCTS!! ALL OF THEM!!

How come all bad customer reviews of well-reviewed products boil down to a long complaint listing all the trouble some user's supposedly had with a specific machine? that's what warranties are for. stay away from every sony product, really? I can't even have a walkman?

You must have gotten a lemon. I have had 3 sony laptops and only 1 was defective or gave problems. I have also had 2 dell laptops and I had more problems with them working. I currently have this computer and it has worked flawlessly. I am sorry for you having so many issues with this unit.
No, I was NOT paid by anyone to say the above and I am not a novice to computers as I work with them and on them regularly. Just a satisfied user of this laptop since Christmas eve 2008. -
When I see this kind of extreme reaction my first impulse is to completely discount that opinion, when I see you have had this computer for 6 months and it has not been released that long I totally lose all respect but, since you claim this is your third bad VIAO I have to say that its your own fault.
