"Yes, motherboard issue!"1.5 starson by teresaxv
Pros: It's a good-looking, lightweight laptop that I really wanted to keep. When I got my replacement, I brought it around and got quite a few compliments on it.
Cons: The laptop tends to heat up unbearably. I customized mine with 8gb ram, core i5, and 256gb SSD. With semi-intense usage (Photoshop, Windows updates, movie streaming, etc.), the computer failed on me twice. Definitely power circuits issue.
Summary: I custom ordered my vaio pro 13 online. When I received the laptop, I couldn't turn it on at all which was weird because usually the laptops would be about half charged. So I left it charging for 3 hours before turning it on. It worked until I unplugged it to go portable when the computer would not turn on - the power lights went on, but the fan did not start, the display remained black, and there was no sound indicating any type of power-on. And this was the first day of use! After going through terrible tech support, I was advised to go to a physical Sony store for assistance in returning the laptop. When I got there, they were of no help with my issue except for finding out that the laptop did in fact turn on but with a failed display. I had to call tech support again to experience horrible service, which did not get me anywhere until I got transferred to customer support and I finally got a replacement ordered. My next laptop resulted in the same mishap with the same results - this time I tried connecting to my own monitor but still could not fix anything. I've been with Sony for my last few laptops but this has lost my trust. I returned it for good. 27roselen may be absolutely correct - it's a motherboard issue with failed power circuits.this is for vaio pro 13...i don't know how to remove it.
