Hot Machine !

Pros: Super fast

Cons: Noisy non-stop fan Hard-Drive is slow

Review: I love this machine But,The fan is noisy, will burn your lap and is non-stop grat for heating a small rooom. It's Heavy 8+ lbs. Great desktop replacement. But,for a backpacking you better be in good shape. The processor,RAM are unbeatable.Hard-Drive Speed has been reduced to a 4200rpm drive (refurb). The Speakers are lame as are all laptops. The Xbrite screen is Awsome!worth dowgrading from a 17" to a 15.4" Don't pay full Price get a refrub from Ubid or other site.have had great luck with Sony's A+ refurbs except software package has been deleted witch burns my butt
Generally It's a hodrod! Get One!
Updated

Brand reliability, All in one value for money

Pros: Display has a crystal feel, RAM and CPU, Price

Cons: Adapter looks like a brick, Sound card is nice but not as loud as HP

Review: I would have expected a heavier machine but this one had its load distributed pretty nicely. It,s wedge shaped and its major weight is towards the rear giving one a light weight feel specially when moving it around on a table.

Display is classy. A definite eye catcher for anyone. Great resolution for watching movies. Better than even the costly plasma screens.

1GB RAM and 3.2Ghz does all the crunching you could ever want from a desktop.

The fans make a bit more noise than I would have wanted but hey the unit remains very cool ever after running for several hours.

Buy this machine at $1400-$1500. Look over the net and you will find that reputed places are offering deals. Save money on this one and treat yourself for the good choice.

Good value and performance

Pros: Great monitor, speed and performance. This computer works great as a desktop substitute.

Cons: A little heavy and the battery life is short. Don't plan on using it if you travel.

Good looks, value but heavy

Pros: All silver, looks nice. Screen bright and easy to read. Good value for features.

Cons: Fan runs continuously, never turns off. Almost seems to be defective? Unit is heavy, oddly shaped (wider in back).

Very good machine, a bit pricey, great style, should have come with XP Pro. Don't pay more than 1600

Pros: DVD+/-RW, 1GB RAM, Beautiful graphics w/ XBRITE.

Cons: No XP Professional for OS. XP Home Edition is an ebarrassment to a machine this expensive. Battery life is also insufficient. Incluced software is Sony rich mainstream poor. Memory Stick slot should have been Multimedia card slot.

Fan NEVER turns off

Pros: Good value $1649 at Costco

Cons: This fan NEVER turns off, I mean literally. The fan is continuously running (at various speeds) and is somewhat annoying. I am thinking of returnig this thing because I can't imagine it is supposed to be this way.
