Editor's note: While this is not a hands-on review of this specific model, it is based on our analysis of the system specs and components, as well as rated reviews of similar products.
This system is essentially identical to one we have reviewed, the Sony VAIO NR160E/W.
What it is:
The first inexpensive laptop from Sony targets consumers who need Core 2 Duo power on a budget. Available in three colors--wenge, granite, and silk--the VAIO NR maintains Sony's traditionally thin profile, but the dumbed-down design makes it look cheap, compared to more expensive VAIOs. The NR 160 has a 160GB hard drive while the otherwise identical NR180 has a 200GB hard drive.
