"Good design wasted...definitely not worth it...!!"
2.5 starson by todkaraniPros: Excellent Display, Good processing speed once its fully on, Great design, Really light weight, One of the best keyboards, Touchpad feels nice.
Cons: Annoying Sony features, No manual control over keyboard backlite which is very frustrating at times. stamina/speed control is very cranky, Very slow start up, Display shuts off each time when switching from plugged in to battery or vice versa.
Summary: I have previously owned Envy 14 and Toshiba satellite models and recently using vaio SE series laptop. The display looks great with 1080P and has good keyboard and touchpad. Design is excellent and extremly light weight. But it has some very annoying features as no manual control over the backlite which i miss from my ENVY 14.Each time when I switch from plugged in to battery or vice versa, the display shuts off which is really very annoying while playing a game or watching movie. More It is very slow at start up and you have keep staring at the screen till it takes full control of the desktop. Moreover the much talked about manual control of the GPU, the stamina/speed switch is very cranky while switching to either mode the the display just hangs up. the so called special buttons from vaio assist and vaio for me seems unnecessary.Although the keyboard is best the touchpad multitouch gestures are very poorly performing like the two fingure scroll..its useless if you try it which was great with ENVY 14. Plus it is quite over priced if wee take a look at the configuration it provides. As a conclusion I must say a good design wasted ... definitely dont go for it...
And more importantly I miss the speed and sturdiness of TOSHIBA laptop... My old configuration Toshiba still works way faster than vaio SE with almost half the start up time.
