"Overall decent notebook with a few glaring problems"
Pros: Just the right size.
Cons: Poor Keyboard. Especially the space bar. Price. Lacks a sturdy feel.
Summary: This is my second notebook. I had a 15.4 inch VAIO before this one. I chose to replace it because being on the road warrented me to find a smaller lighter product. I found the 11 inches too small and the 13.3 inch ones seemed to be just the right size.
This would be a really great product had it not been for a subpar keyboard. My biggest gripe with it is a really mushy and insensitive space bar. Although this may sound a touch trivial, it's a frustrating experience everytime you hit the space bar (especially towards the edges) and get no response. Paying over $2,000. for this product I would expect much superior workmanship. The ratio of cost to quality seems to be very poor in this product.
I purchased this product to replace my previous vaio because the size really appealed to me. I found it, and this is probably just me, to be far too delicate to be used on the road. I will be returning it and look for a replacement. I doubt I will replace it with another VAIO.

I agree with you on the keyboard bit, though i do think that perhaps you are being a bit too harsh on the rest of the computer by judging it solely on the keyboard strength.
Personally, my problem with this computer is that i've had it for about two weeks now, and i've already had to do two system restores and a heckload of calling into sony about the dvd player not reading dvds of sorts. Though i have yet to fix it, i'd rate this computer more of at a 7 then a 5. Even an 7.5, maybe, because of being superbly fast and lovely to use other then the shoddy keys (really just the spacebar for me). Great screen, light, nice.
Personally, though, i wouldn't get this computer if you're easily frustrated with minor annoyances, because this viao is full of them. -
