Pros: Super sexy, ultra-portable, beautiful screen, wwan...

Cons: was slow and loaded with crapware - before 2gb memory upgrade

Summary: Owned one for 4 days now.... As other uses and CNET have commented, this thing is loaded to the hilt with crapware. It took me half a day to clear the thing up.... But once I did, it was a completely different ultraportable... Also, I boosted the memory of the unit to 2GB from 1GB, cause I didn't think Vista would much like 1GB.... Even though the 'Vista performance rating' didn't improve, it does make a big difference....

The keyboard is fabulous for an ultraportable... The space between keys keeps my fat fingers from butchering text on a routine basis!

BTW, MS made the consumer a nice, quick and dirty assessment rating by creating that Vista Performance Rating....Now I just go from PC to PC, Control Panel, and System to get a real quick assessment of the PC's performance with Vista versus the machine sitting next to it, etc.... I know, it's bound to be a bit inaccurate, but still, it's a great Vista tool! ;)

    Updated
To add more info to the review I submitted on my new Sony TZ150N.... I will say a few things...LOVE the built in WWAN, but still haven't figured out how to use it with my service (initializing errors abound). The indicator lights for the WLAN, WWAN, BT are all located below the A/V, instand on functions (another cool feature BTW...can play DVDs like a DVD player without OS boot required), so you cannot see if they are lit by looking down at the laptop (in the usual fashion). You have to lift the laptop at about 20 degrees to see the lights... Finally, the USB ports... There are only two, but are located on the SAME side of the laptop. Also owning a Fujitsu Lifebook P1510D, I can attest, that having one USB port on opposing sides of the laptop/tablet work much better when you need to hook up something larger than a USB stick that otherwise would occlude the second port.... Otherwise VERY sweet laptop, but as before, strongly recommend the RAM upgrade to 2GB...and it needs a serious price drop!!! Come on Sony!!!

Hi! Thanks so much for the helpful post. I'm looking for any advice you can offer that will speed my new sony vaio tx150n up. As you mentioned, it's an amazing laptop with a few notable drawbacks but the design is great. I bought mine with the best buy pre install package that they said would speed it up but i'm hoping you could recommend what bloatware to remove to help the laptop maximize its potential. If possible, please advise! Thanks so much....
