"PCG-V505DH: A truly great bring anywhere machine"
Pros: Finally I can bring my notebook almost anywhere without breaking my back and straining my school backpack. I love its bright screen, sensitive and long range wireless client, comfty keyboard, responsive touchpad, long battery life, and a wow look. It does
Cons: -The processor power of 1.4ghz with a 512mb ram are not enough for intensive multi-tasking. -The built in recovery partition of the 40gb 4200 rpm HD eats up almost 20% of the available effective hd space. -The memory card reader is limited to the memory

"Great computer for a first timer"
Pros: This computer has all the features a regular user would want, with the added perk that you have one of the best looking laptops out there! Built in wireless is a definite plus and works great. Very portable and stylish, great battery life.
Cons: Does not come with accessories, surface seems to scratch easily.

Pros: I don't know why some people reported that it can't be upgraded to XP Pro. I got the V505DX model with XP Home. I upgraded it to XP Pro without any problem. Bottom line, you can certainly do worse than this one.
Cons: Not the fastest system out there. I never like touch pad. When the battery is low, all of the sudden the system died without proper warning.

"Looks cool, but still not as cool looking as a Mac"
Pros: I bought one of these because I just couldn't make the switch, but so far so good. It's a nice little computer. The 802.11g Intel wireless works really well compared to my friend's Toshiba Atheros G wireless. It's pretty small.
Cons: I'm not terribly excited about it to be honest. Comes with XP Home usually -- don't even try upgrading to XP Pro, it's bad news. It's worked on some Sony's I've been around in the past, but this one didn't like it. Sounds strange I know.
