After using it for 6 months ...
Pros: Great for travelling & email; no CF card reader
Cons: Not my P4 machine; limited HD space; limited battery
It's the easiest computer to get thru an airport & it's been around the world several times. It was my "home PC" when I worked for 6 mos. in Washington DC. A real workhorse, despite its limited ram (512 MB) & HD (20 GB) but with the easy addition of an iLink DVD RW drive & an xPCGear 160 GB HD I had a complete machine that didn't break my back in my backpack. Its wireless PCMCIA card has faithfully gotten me into wireless systems way too weak for other adapters. And although the keyboard's compact, it wasn't that difficult to get used to. The bigget complaint was that the letters have worn off the keys from using it so much!

Got a lemon and Sony didn't care.
Pros: It worked great for a year.
Cons: One month after my warrantee ran out the monitor started to flicker. The original labels were on the computer. It was immaculate. It sat on my desk for 12 months. The 13th month it broke. Sony would not accept that I got a lemon. Their service is too

Almost a $1000 too expensive for what it is.
Pros: Nice to look at, thin and light.
Cons: It is almost a $1000 too expensive for what it is -- particularly compared to competing products. Processor os only a 1.1 MHz, small hard drive, WiFi not integrated (must use a PC card). Just doesn't cut it at the price.

WYSIWYG - This is the coolest notebook on the planet
Pros: extremely thin and light, and its actually the size of a notebook.
Cons: short battery life, no integrated WiFi. Wait till version 2.0

U are buying an designer item. Not features. I have bought this in Japan.
Pros: I have bought this notebook in Japan. This is a good solid notebook and has a lot of design factor put into place and definately a WOW factor notebook. However, there are major draw back in features department but this is only normal for a notebook that s
Cons: Disadvantage: Speakers - one of the worst speakers i have ever encounter. Build in drive - dun even think of it as u r shopping for a slimmest notebook in the world no built in modem or wifi - u have to purchase externally. Not a big issue. Battery lif

Beware of noise problem
Pros: Incredible design.
Cons: I just returned this unit to Fry's because of a high pitched noise coming from the hard drive. I do not think it was a defect, but an annoying peculiarity of this computer.

Worth the cost for the convenience
Pros: Extremely light weight, powerful enough for common Office applications, battery life not as bad as some claim
Cons: Battery life, need to carry separate optical drive, network port can be tricky

Expensive? Yes. But you don't need a back brace
Pros: Looking for a XP system under 3lb, without the hassle of that half OS system they call tablet. All the function for a college kid. Dail-up? who uses that. My books are heavy enough.
Cons: As long as your actually doing work and not play (20gb, 16.1), it has plenty of room. The 64 shared ram will not play Halo2, but its not bad on some legacy games.

its cool but not when its breaks a while later
Pros: its really slim and cool looking
Cons: if you want a gaming computer, this is not for you. the lack of fans cause more heat to be trapped in the laptop, and heat causes the parts to have a shorter life span. Its not worth investing so much in this "just to show off" computer.

Unless you really need it, don't buy it!!
Pros: All right, there have been all kinds of people leaving all kinds of negative comments of this computer. First of all, if you are commuting to colleges/work by your own cars, you will highly likely NOT need it. But, if you are commuting to wherever by cr
Cons: The only improvement needed is... why does it NOT have wireless capability?? This is really a big question to me. Welcome to 21st century, Mr. Sony!!!

extremely poor customer support
Pros:
Cons: CNET should warn readers that Sony has an extremely bad history of product support. If there is a problem, the user will have to pay an extreme price for repair, or may even have to toss the product out! See the dozen or so web sites with messages from

Not many features for the price
Pros: Sleek, sexy and ultraportable.
Cons: 20G HDD, 1024x768 resolution, and 1GHz processor for $3000? I have some land in the Everglades for anyone who seriously considers this laptop. Look at the Apple powerbook, it is about 1/2 to 1/3 the price and MUCH MORE CAPABLE (and almost as portable).

Form leads functions, artistically!
Pros: First, I would like to state that I actually own a X505 and not reviewing a product from a magazine advertisement. Without question the most beautifully designed piece of technology that I own, just eclipsing my Di Novo keyboard and mouse. I have had mi
Cons: The only change that I would of made was to have built-in wireless G, but did they provide the ability externally with style.

Cons: As far as all the cons, thiee are more about dispelling cons: Miss the CD drive? It's called external drive, ISOs, and Daemon Tools... (Although the external DVD+-/RW is nice, and I would recommend). Dial-up? It's called a USB modem, but quite frankly, i

Light, Sweet, and $$$$
Pros: Ultra-Light, Very sexy, Keyboard is amazing for a machine this size, Nice screen, Plays games ok if you update the drivers. If you have the cash, you won't be disappointed. If you don't have the cash, don't stretch yourself. You'll be happier with a lower
Cons: Too small (no seriously-- it's hard to type on your lap because it's that small, though no problem typing on a flat surface), Stick mouse is difficult to get used to, Much more expensive than other similar models (but much more attractive-- you're paying

Japan X505
Pros: I had for a month and love it. The quality is top notch, noiseless operation. It can keep up with my 3.5 P4 on office application. I had no trouble except when i tried to format for Eng OS. Thanks to net forum, i can find the way to install driver/hotkey/
Cons: Poor support but i can't claim that much since i brought *** model. I-Link DVD-RW is costly.

My first impression - WOW
Pros: Received mine on Tuesday. First off the laptop looks fantastic! No amount of measuring could have prepared me for just how small this laptop is. It is very sturdy so I don?t have to handle it like it?s made of glass. The screen is very easy to read. I
Cons: It would have been nice if the wireless was built in instead of using a PC Card. The card works very well and is designed to look good with the laptop, but still having it built in would have been nice. The hard drive has a 2.5GB partition reserved for
