"A very good product (after a few upgrades)"
Pros: Great size; great price; good battery life.
Cons: System is not optimized when running gOS; slow harddrive (3600 rpm)
Summary: Although the unit, as it comes from the factory, is not fully optimized, with a few upgrades the Sylvania g Netbook can be a great mobile companion. When I recieved mine, I installed a faster, larger harddrive(Toshiba 4200rpm 60gb MK6008GAH) and windows xp & vista. Under XP this thing runs like a top, everything worked right off the bat; plus sylvania provides the drivers on thier site. And it ran Vista suprisingly well, returning an astounding battery life of 3 hrs. and 50 min. under normal operation (once the right drivers were found, even some of Aero was usable); the only thing that didn't work was the RJ-45 ethernet port.
In general I am very happy with my purchase:
Sylvania g Netbook (jr.com) $299
Toshiba Harddrive (ebay) $45
Windows XP & Vista (spare licenses) $0
A great Netbook for <$250 Priceless

Found these Refurbished,Original Warranty for $195.00 Shipped!
Is this a great Buy at this Price? -
What specific driver did you use on the graphics card to use some of the Aero Features in Vista? I just got mine for $225 shipped. It was an open box return. I really like it and vista is running good but I'd sure like to try the video driver your using. i'm using the one supplied on Sylvania's website. Thanks I'm kurt_westpalm@hotmail.com
