Summary: Faster than my desktop and Vista doesn't seem as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I've already downloaded several apps from CNET and they were quick and work perfectly. This is replacing my desktop so it's not light. The weight is 6 lbs. without the 9 cell battery. For the things I do surfing, watching DVDs, gaming with BigFish games this is perfect. All in all I've very happy with my purchase. I had originally planned on buying a Apple Powerbook but the $2,000 price tag and that didn't include the software to run both Windows and Leopard at the same time. Plus the possible cost of fixing the laptop if it broke was enough for me to stick with a PC. Another Dell, I have Dell Inspirion 5000 desktop, was my second choice but once you start with the base and begin to customize and upgrade we're talking about $1,500 not including tax and shipping. Then I checked out Best Buy and this was $599 with a 9-cell battery and I could get MS Office Home and Student 2007 for $79 I couldn't pass it up. Definately glad I shopped and priced before I sent myself back into credit debt over a computer that I will eventually replace in 3 years. Nope my last Dell desktop is the last time I will buy a PC for over a $1,000.
