"A disappointement compared to Latitude X1"
Pros: Slim size, good battery life, quite fast
Cons: Keyboard, build finish
Summary: Although I already had the Dell Latitude X1, I couldn't help snapping up the Portege R200 when it became available on my last day in NY, without having seen it. On the whole this has proven to be a disappointment; the build finish does in no way compare to the R100 and the Latitude X1 seems bulletproof in comparison. I have never seen so much keyboard flex on a premium notebook, even the touchpad flexes when you press on it, opening a small crack on the side. Other parts seem flimsy too. The screens are about par, but since the Dell has higher resolution, you still have more real estate, despite it's being widescreen, especially when watching movies, than on the R200. Battery Life seems better on the Portege.Updated
Both notebooks are quite silent: The Toshiba has a small fan, which makes little noise, and stays quite cool. The Dell has no fan and is completely silent, but does get rather warm.
