Pros: This computer is very light for easy travel. When it worked, performance was satisfactory, although battery time was well below that advertised.
Cons: The hard drive on this computer crashed after 3.5 months. The computer has been out of service for 8 weeks because Toshiba does not have a replacement. Customer service cannot say when they will have the part and is unwilling to provide further help.
Summary: This is the worst customer service experience I have had in over 20 years of business computer purchases. Initially, when the hard drive suddenly stopped working, the company sent me to a local authorized dealer for repair. The dealer was told a replacement hard drive would not be available for 1 month. After the month passed he was told it would be another month. I called Toshiba and they told me to send the computer to their repair center and it would be fixed and returned within 7-10 days. The computer has now been at the repair center for 3 weeks with a message on their website that they are awaiting a part. Three calls in the last 10 days to customer service have been fruitless. I was told they cannot get information from the repair center on when the part will be received. They refused to provide a new computer or any other options, and indicated my concerns cannot be escalated to a higher level. I have no computer and am out of alternatives for dealing with them. Based on this experience I would recommend staying away from purchasing this model computer or any other computer product from Toshiba.
