"You get what you pay for!"
Pros: Fast. Great sound. Great screen. Plenty of storage.
Cons: Heavy. Expensive.
Summary: Having had a G25 and now a G35, I thought I would share my opinion about the 2 machines. The look, feel, size, screen, etc is pretty much the same. A couple of things I preferred on the G25 are the lights to show volume levels and touch pad on top for multimedia controls.
One big advantage on the G35 is the touchpad. Not just the quick controls, but the overall feel of it. The G25 had a scratcy surface. This one is smooth and much easier to use. The dual 80G drives are also nice allowing plenty of storage.
I keep reading about the 1 bit Audio processor on the new G35. Thats great, but how do I realize the true benefit of this? The manual provided is pretty much useless when it comes to explaining the advantages of all these inclusions.
The graphics card seems fine. When my card shows up in system info however on the G35, it says it has 512MB installed. Is this incorrect? Anyone else see this?
All in all, a great machine. Right now, the G25 can be picked up at Best Buys for $1799 while they are left. Is this one worth $600 extra? For my use, no, simply because I would not take advantage of all the high end features.
do I regret the purchase? No.

I also noticed the system info listing the
video card as having 512MB.What's up with that?It seems to be a great card regardless
of what I keep hearing.Does anyone have any
more input on this oddity? -
It is pricey but it is a pretty tight laptop
