Toshiba Satellite A105-S4074

Pros: Decent display. Fast enough. Runs cooler than my last notebook.

Cons: Keyboard took some getting used to. 40 gig hard drive.

Summary: I bought this machine used from Craigslist and have been pleasantly surprised with it's performance. It certainly isn't state of the art but for my purposes it's fine. Windows 7 was installed and memory has been upgraded to 2 gigs. It runs everything I want plenty fast. Office loads quickly and there is no screen lag for anything but some games. There are 2 USB ports in the back that don't seem to work but the 2 on the right side work fine. I bought a hard drive dock for a 160 gig WD Scorpio that works just fine and have several large flash drives so storage isn't much of a problem. I have Ubuntu 10.10 installed under Win 7 and that works reasonably well also.
Based on my experience with this machine I would definitely consider another Toshiba whenever I decide to replace this one, probably not this year...No plans right now. I'm satisfied with this one.
