"Excellent with a few minor cons..."
Pros: Excellent price, has a lot of power for large apps. just make sure you keep it cool.
Cons: When watching dvds for any extended period (1 hour 30 minutes+) it becomes very hot and really chops up the quailty. Power cord is extremly fragile, if you can make sure you get the extended warranty.
Summary: The A45 works great with some minor exceptions. I am on the road and at my desk all the time, what I noticed most it that it burns up if something isn't under it letting the cooling fan take in all the air it can. It is a larger laptop than most, so it makes it hard to buy those nice custom cooling pads, I ended up just building a support base from an old box of legos. I'd recommend the A45 for more business oriented people, it works great for most of my games but the bigger ones kill it. Battery life is excellent in long life and the built-in wireless is great when you?re on the road. I don't care much for the sound quality because it seems a little weak if you ask me, make sure you get headphones and it will be much better. But overall this laptop does do everything I need it to and more and you can't beat that price for everything you get (I paid $1,999.99 at Fry's Electronics back in May 2004).

Just wanted to correct something I wrote, where I says I paid $1,999.99 at Fry's, that's wrong! I was trying to say I paid $1,099.99 at Fry's. Just thought I better clairfy that.

Mine is a a45-s1202. It has a 2.8 MHz processor. I don't know if this wasn't intended for a laptop (maybe one of the reason why it is so bulky). Lately it has overheating problems that eventually turn off the laptop. I read it's a known failure in many satellites.
