"RECALL ON ELECTRICAL, BAN TOSHIBA PRODUCTS AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS"
Pros: the salesmen where clean
Cons: EVERYTHINGi should have flushed 2K for my birthday
Summary: This piece of . . "equipment" now would make a mediocre paper weight. The "support" and the customer "service" is non existant. I bought this "thing" for my fiftieth birthday and told the salesman, I wanted the best and easiest with everything under 2k. Unfortunately I bought this piece of ... "equipment." Comp USA sold it to me along with a three year warranty. But they are not "an authorized dealer" Despite the fact that i live 20 minutes from Toshiba's main offices in Irvine CA, this piece of ..."equipment" has traveled the world and i have struggled to understand many "technicians" in Turkey and from what i could understand, they could not help. This piece of . . "equipment" never worked,(well acknowledged and documented) it had electrical problems (which caused a recall), but neither Toshiba, Comp USA, nor TAP will help me unless I pay much more than this piece of . . "equipment" is worth. Does anyone at Toshiba care? No, they just pass it to someone else.
I work in a high profile - nation wide company with major exposure in Sales and Customer Sevice. I am proud to say that I played a major role in making sure that Toshiba did not get a very, large contract through my persistence and retelling my story to the proper individuals. I will not stop this I can assure you. My company actually carries a few of their appliances which will be discontinued soon due to my campaign. I will, network, tell customers, people in line at Starbucks and really everyone I can NEVER, NEVER BUY FROM TOSHIBA. They do not keep their word and the company has NO integrity. BOYCOTT TOSHIBA.

Has there been any success in getting toshiba to address/reimburse customers regarding the a75 s219

I had the misfortune of switching from Dell to Toshiba, because
I was angry at their service. I've had every laptop known to man
since 1981 and the Osborne Computer with it's Dual 5¼-inch
drives. The last Toshiba I bought has been since about '98 or so.
I obviously forgot about how bad their laptops are, and their lousy
service. Back then, everything wasn't outsourced like now. I'm the
GM of a large Mid-South DoD contractor, and I will make sure nothing
is bought from Toshiba computer division either. The absolute worst! -
Dude... I REGRET HAVING BOUGHT THIS LAPTOP. FROM THE DEEPEST OF MY HEART. I wish you good luck with what you're doing! Toshiba deserves to go out of business! :-@
I had overheating for a long time... Then, I took it over to repair center, they had it for 1 week... When I got it back, no more overheating! I was happy! But it started to happen again in Christmas... argh... I cleaned it out with a vacuum cleaner and some needles, but after 1 week it started again! I tried the vacuum cleaner again, this time didn't work... But listen to the (not) funny part; my warranty has expired now, but even when it wasn't, the tech support told me to buy cool pads (didn't work either) or even "sell it on eBay"... The dudes don't know crap, and some of them don't even know English. I once had to hang up on one of them for that. Man... I just set my savings rate to 50% so I can buy a new laptop... Buying a computer is like sex, you have to be careful.

This laptop is the worst computer I've ever had. Toshiba's warranty is worthless. Around my house, it's called the Toshitba laptop.

I bought my S206 at BEST BUY with a service plan. The darn thing runs hot, shuts off, and is a noisy piece of... I brought it back to Best Buy and they sent it for service that took over two months. The laptop worked relatively well for a couple of months, but the fan kicks on almost immediately and the heat is back. We are back to the point where it is necessary to give up the laptop for another 2-3 month period because it shuts off al the time, and this will be the third trip to the Best Buy service desk (and that is a review all of its own -- combine the Toshiba piece of crap with their service and look out!!!)
Best Buy's service plan states that if a laptop is returned a FOURTH time it can be replaced. But my biggest fear is...With What???
This S206 is a piece of garbage, and I assume Toshiba did nothing to address the issue with it's successor. I will never buy another Toshiba product of any kind from now on! -
