"Outstanding performance in a mid-size notebook" on by MemphisTechGuy
Pros: Light, responsive, and versitile. HDMI and eSATA ports are a definite plus. WIFI radio performs 4/5 bars compared to previous G radios in both Toshiba, Dell and HP laptops. Great machine. I'm a Technology Consultant and I am quite picky!
Cons: May or may not miss the lack of PCI or PCI Expres slot. Cellular data card has to use one of the two USB ports
Summary: Excellent machine! My last Toshiba Satellite A10 lasted 5 years before I just resold it as refurbished. Back-lit keyboard is a surprising plus as well.

"I liked touchpad and keyboard best out of all I tried" on by spcanf
Pros: seems fast and I love the keyboard/touchpad
Cons: graphics card
Summary: I bought this computer over the best buy hp because of the keyboard and touch pad - they felt best for me - I hated the shiny slick hp touchpad. I bought this to replace a dell vostro (because I could get xp on it) which I hated from day one (horrible keyboard, touchpad and dvd drive)- except for the stupid vista - this computer is great. I
The toshiba has the bigger screen - the hp screen is smaller and has a shiny odd touchpad. It does run warm - but not so much that it is a drawback for me.

Pros: Great Specs, warranty, features, software, Killer Performance. Back Lite Keyboard is Incredible and make the computer even more appealing
Cons: FM Radio Tuner should have been the DTV tuner/FM Radio tuner
Summary: Best use of money on a computer in the 2009 year market... BestBuys has an exclusive with Toshiba and this is a GRAND SLAM value. Originally $1200.00 not as of July 2009 $699.00 ... Comparable computer still @ $1200 --> 1400... Back to College Winner .. Hands Down

"I'm diggin it" on by bikechuck
Pros: Back lit keyboard and fast response for basic computing
Cons: Fkexy Keyboard. I'm OK with it as long as it lasts
Summary: I'm not a gamer and I use my laptop for email, web surfing, watching an occasional college football game on ESPN 360 and working at home using MS Office products. So far so good. I am not a touch typist and I really enjoy the back lit keyboard. This product is working very well so far and meeting to exceeding my expectations. I would have given it five stars except for the flexy keyboard. I can adjust to that just fine. I just hope that it proves to be a durable keyboard.

"HOT Palm rest. Hot underside." on by compuscribe77
Pros: It has a lot of memory: 320GB. Also, I have a 2006 Toshiba Satellite A model that has never given me a moments trouble.
Cons: The palm gets HOT HOT HOT after an hour of surfing. I bought a cooling pad (not one with a fan); no difference.. I even cut up a mouse pad and put it over the palm rest areas. I decided to return it. Best Buy still charged me a %15 restocking fee.
Summary: Way to hot and extremely uncomfortable. After scanning the web for solutions, I cam upon a link to an online Toshiba manual--which made me look at my hardcopy, which had the same warning. It warned that the palmrest would get hot and not to rest your hands there. ?????
