"Great but had 2 bad hard drives in 8 months now.." on by treyallen
Pros: pretty fast, cheap, huge screen, number pad
Cons: I treat this thing like an egg but still I've lost 2 drives in 8 months... The person at the Toshiba authorized repair center said they see a lot these come in with bad drives...
Summary: AWESOME laptop but carry like a baby!

"Beast of a machine for cost!" on by BeastAB
Pros: Beast speakers in a laptop, great price, dedicated graphics, clean look, Fusion Finish is "scratch proof", and comfortable keyboard( I can no longer use other keyboards without feeling disappointed).
Cons: Finger prints, not wireless n, some points in its construction feel a little "soft", finger prints, battery life is slightly shorter than comparable machines, and did I say fingerprints.
Summary: At $850 for the s8822 model, smaller drive, I couldn't find a better laptop on the market. The 256MB card was a must for me, I was tired of seeing all these damn integrated P.O.S.s. The processor is a little slower than i had hoped for, and doesn't have much room for upgrades. The media keys are a nice touch when you're multitasking, but a little bit oversensitive. The Fusion Finish is a major fingerprint magnet, but is basically un-scratchable. Only one I have on mine after 9 months is from a screw. Touch pad is very user friendly and has a unique feel that was described as slippery sandpaper. Some construction points are a little shoddy, the rubber feet all came off one at a time, the A/C adapter point is a little loose, and the disc drive always wants to open up. Other than that though I have been completely satisfied with this purchase. I use it mostly for Photo Shop and class work, but can rank out decent game play with modest settings. If your techno savvy or have time to learn a new skill and some confidence, you can even safely OC this system to get an extra 5-10 fps in most games. I'm a big fan of Fallout 3 and play it with medium settings at just over 20 fps at all times. Bottom line, this is the best system for the price, and a good system period, and at most, you need to spend 1 min a week to wipe it clean.

"Best Computer I've Ever Owned" on by hooksa01
Pros: Performance, Sound, Design
Cons: Occasional Windows Vista Hang-Ups (not Toshiba's fault)
Summary: I had been in the market for a new laptop for quite a while. So I bought a Dell...biggest mistake I ever made. After having nothing but problems with it I finally returned it. I eventually came across this computer and fell in love with it. This sucker has kick-butt performance and a style I have never seen in a laptop. As I said in the title line, its the best computer I've ever owned.
