"i love this notebook" on by davidgreenday
Pros: well, all of it
Cons: if im gonna nitpick..then the End and Home buttons location
Summary: This is my 6th laptop and by far this is the one I like the best. That’s without considering the benchmarks (which are great!), since you can't compare a new notebook to older models. The battery life is about 4 hours, with the right power plan. It’s pretty reasonable when you compare that to other models with the same specs. I opted to buy this one for more expensive options and I'm very pleased with it. The price is great, it looks great, quiet, low temperatures, 3GB RAM and 2.1Ghz CPU, fingerprint reader and face recognition which are quite fun (way too much pre-installed software I’ll never use, but I never really understood why that’s a bad thing...simply uninstall them or reinstall the OS), very friendly UI (hardware wise too, such as the location of the fan and jacks on the left side – except the location of the Home and End buttons at the top part of the KB which I need to get used to), great screen and much more...I love this one. Hope this 'relationship' lasts! It's a 10 for what you get for a really good price, but I'd also give it a 10 if it was $500 more.

"Very happy" on by pc4400
Pros: very quiet, fast and small
Cons: too shiny, attracts fingerprints
Summary: very happy with this. Almost no sound at all. I love the ability to quickly adjust the power scheme. I havent used the USB sleep charge since they hid the controls I havent had time to look. The notebooks footprint is very small aside from the large battery which provides more than enough usage time. It doesn't have S-Video out but I already have a VGA to S-Video/composite adapter. Webcam is crisp as well. Wi-Fi was WAY better than my previous notebook which had a fancy Linksys PCMCIA card.

"one of The best all round laptops on the market" on by SidedPanic
Pros: good looks, performance and price
Cons: yes the keyboard gets messy, but it still looks pretty awesome after a quick wipe
Summary: firstly, i would like to make a small few complaints about cnet's review. the cons you have accounted for are completely ridiculous - OMG too much bloatware, OMG sleep and charge turned off by default - that's ridiculous. all windows based laptops come with too much bloatware, which u just remove; and with sleep and charge you just turn on (IF you need it that is, as it does reduce battery life slightly if left on).
then in terms of comparisons you've included a significantly more expensive laptop, that runs off much less processer-intensive OS. how is that a comparison?
anyway about the laptop. lovely design, nice solid feel to everything, great price to performance ratio and most importantly (too me anyway) an absolutely perfect screen. it's still glossy but without all the glare and reflections. perfect. -
"Too many problems" on by brasim
Pros: Thought the price was right
Cons: Very slow and always in the repair center
Summary: I bought this computer thinking I was buying a fast computer but it was always very slow. Sent it to the repair center and they added told me the hard drive need to be replace. Well 3 months later they replaced the mother board and now the mother has gone again. I just do not like having a product the is always in the repair center. Would not recommend a Toshiba computer.

"Dependable, convenient for any office or home use." on by INTR2001
Pros: Small and compact, light weight, fast, screen is bright, 3G more than enough RAM to run windows VISTA, 160G Plenty of Hard Drive space; 2.1GHz with 64bit operating system; gets you to your programs instantly!
Cons: speakers aren't very loud, delete and backspace button too close. It does get finger prints everywhere, they do give you a clothe to wipe it though. It does get hot, ventilation is necessary.
Summary: This computer has been a very reliable computer for me and my girlfriend -- bought it November 2008. We use this everyday, at least 3 - 5 hours each day and it hasn't given us any troubles. Good bang for your buck if you just need a home notebook to surf the web, write some essays, and watch a few movies.
