"Heats up like hell" on by drvikram123
Pros: Cute looking piece.
Thats why I bought it for my wife.Cons: I agree with the other reviewer.
This piece heats up like hell and then shuts down in 1 hour.
All the pads at bottom and on the screen have melted awaySummary: Do not buy it!

"Worked well for maybe a year." on by mandt6
Pros: Got it for cheap.
Cons: -Heats up quickly causing everything to lag
-Only 3 USB ports
-No HDMI port
-Volume dial always breaksSummary: This is my second but last Toshiba laptop I will be using. With both Toshiba laptops, the dial for volume stopped working after a couple weeks. Both laptops had overheating issues. Go with another company, such as Dell, who have slightly better reliability.

"Do NOT get this laptop" on by littlefrogling
Pros: light, easy to carry
Cons: heats up fast, keyboard impossible to keep clean (catches dust, dirt, grease), shoddy construction, bad battery life
Summary: I bought this laptop for law school - it was considerably smaller and lighter than my old laptop, and I liked the look of it. I knew it wasn't the best thing out there, but it fit in my budget.
I've now been using it about a year, and I would tell anyone to NOT buy this. Performance-wise it's fine - all the regular problems you would expect with Vista. The big problem I have is that it's built VERY poorly. I'm not rough on my laptop - I only use it for school, and it's basically lives in the cushion pack I store it in.
Because it heats up so bad, the little cushion pads on the bottom (to keep it from skipping) and around the screen (so the screen won't touch the keyboard) have all melted off - I have a pile of them on my bookcase, but I haven't been able to find a way to get them to re-attach. My left arrow key has fallen off, which is too annoying to describe. This morning, when I was closing it after shutting down, the left hinge snapped.
I've had this computer a year, and it is in worse physical shape than my old laptop that I carried all over Europe and dropped numerous times. Even though it's probably about 5 years old now, I'm thinking I might go back to using that one, just because it's not falling apart.

"Great for business" on by alienn8
Pros: Light
Small Screen
Sleek design
Webcam and Mic built-in
Fast enough for a Work related functionCons: Keyboard catches a lot of oil
Heats up considerably (fixed with a fan)
Battery life is awfulSummary: Overall, a great laptop despite its drawbacks. It really depends on what you want to do. I use this for business... opening word, adobe, excel, etc. But if you want to play games, stay away from this laptop. It's average at best.
This laptop is exactly what I'm looking for... nice display, quick enough for business programs, light and compact. Can't really ask for anything more. Plus, this thing sells for around 600 brand new! Just have to look around.
