"Cnet is a little biased on this one"
Pros: Size, weight, screen size, display, batery life
Cons: Key layout, RAM price, partition size
Summary: I bought this just as my 6 year old IBM R31 started to go. I wanted something that I could get with XP Pro, light because I'm a commuter student and I always have my comp, reliable, and economical. So after about a week, I picked up the customized version of this model. It took me a week longer to get because I customized it, but I digress. This is a great computer. The key layout is only a problem to me because Im used to my 101-key keyboard on my old IBM. If you have had Toshiba before, this won't bother you. I did not get the Brightview, and I don't regret not getting it at all. The USB ports are abundent. I ordered the basic 60GB harddrive, but when I started it up it only told me I had a 48GB size to start, with 8 gigs already full. To upgrade from 512MB of RAM to 1GB, Toshiba wanted $80, so I decided to buy 1GB of RAM somewhere else and add it to my 512, giving me 1.5 GB. This is a great machine especially for the price and I don't see why it only received a 6.4/10 because of the screen.
My Specs:
1.66GHZ centrino duo
512 MB RAM - upped to 1.5 GB
60GB Harddrive
Integrated graphics
Built in a/b/g Wireless with bluetooth
CD-rw/DVD-rom drive
P.S. built in media card reader and fingerprint readers are new to me . . . AND AWESOME!
