HP Color LaserJet CP1215
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.8 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 13 reviews
HP Color LaserJet CP1215 Reviewed on 04/28/2009

The Bottom Line: The Color LaserJet CP1215 is HP's entry-level printer built to serve small workgroups, but it suffers from frustratingly slow print speeds, a missing LCD screen, and other problems. Your $299 will go much further with the Dell 1320c, another color laser with faster print speeds for the same price.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 12 pages/min, 8 pages/min, PC, USB

  • User rating: 2 stars out of 13 reviews
Color Laser Printer 1320c Reviewed on 07/16/2007

The Bottom Line: The Dell 1320c is a decent choice for a small office or work group, but a little more cash will net you a faster printer with better print quality.

Specs: Personal printer - Laser - Color, A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in), Wired, PC, USB

Brother HL-4040cn

      Overall score: 7.4 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 24 reviews
Brother HL-4040cn Reviewed on 05/21/2007

The Bottom Line: Despite its lagging black print speeds, the Brother HL-4040CN does a lot of things right and makes a compelling color laser printer for small offices or workgroups.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in), Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 21 pages/min, 20 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Direct print USB, Ethernet 10/100Base-TX

HP LaserJet P3005
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.3 (3.5 stars)
HP LaserJet P3005 Reviewed on 02/14/2007

The Bottom Line: The HP LaserJet P3005 is a great mono laser printer for small- and medium-sized offices, but it's expensive. We think Lexmark's E350 series offers a better value.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Monochrome, A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in), Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 35 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Parallel

HP Color LaserJet 1600
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 19 reviews
HP Color LaserJet 1600 Reviewed on 06/14/2006

The Bottom Line: The HP Color LaserJet 1600 printer is the same printer as the HP CLJ 2600n with fewer features. Unlike the 2600n, the 1600 is not network ready and can be connected only via USB. Finally, the CLJ 1600 printer is compatible only with Windows-based PCs; the 2600n works with both PCs and Macs. Because both models use the same processor and memory, performance and print quality should be the same, so our assessment of those aspects of the 2600n stand for the 1600 as well. With its basic features and smaller price tag (about $299), the HP CLJ 1600 is better suited for home office environments.

Specs: Personal printer - Laser - Color, A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in), Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 8 pages/min, PC, USB

HP Color LaserJet 2605dtn

      Overall score: 7.1 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 5 reviews
HP Color LaserJet 2605dtn Reviewed on 06/07/2006

The Bottom Line: The HP 2605dtn has some flaws, but it prints color cheaply and well enough for small offices, individuals, and small corporate workgroups.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, PC, Mac, USB, Ethernet 10/100Base-TX

HP Color LaserJet 2605dn
  • User rating: 2h stars out of 39 reviews
HP Color LaserJet 2605dn Reviewed on 06/07/2006

The Bottom Line: The HP Color LaserJet 2605dn is the same printer as the Color LaserJet 2605dtn, just pared down a bit. It lacks the third paper tray and the photo memory card slots but costs $200 less than the 2605dtn. Its performance and print quality should be exactly the same as the 2605dtn that we reviewed.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in), Wired, 12 pages/min, 10 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Ethernet 10/100Base-TX

HP Color LaserJet 3600n
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.6 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 22 reviews
HP Color LaserJet 3600n Reviewed on 05/26/2006

The Bottom Line: The HP Color LaserJet 3600n is an average-performing color laser printer.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in), Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 17 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Ethernet 10/100Base-TX

HP Color LaserJet 3600dn Reviewed on 05/26/2006

The Bottom Line: The HP Color LaserJet 3600dn is basically the same printer as the 3600n, but with additional memory and a duplexer for double-sided printing. The print quality should be the same as that of the 3600n.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 17 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Ethernet 10/100Base-TX
