Pros Fast printing, awesome price
Cons hard to set up the wifi unless youre going to stick a ethernet cable from your printer to your router
Summary I only use this to print text, and the occasiional black and white picture. It does the job perfectly, and I couldnt be more pleased!
Pros Excellent text quality. Fast printing. Toner lasts a long time, especially when using toner-save mode. Wireless setup and use is perfect. Quick and easy setup.
Cons Printing pictures and graphics do not look as good as text, but it still looks more than acceptable.
Summary I've owned countless inkjet printers from Canon, Epson, HP, etc. I was never really satisfied by the look of the printed documents. They didn't look professional like how laser printer documents look. I found this at Fry's Electronics for $80, and by far this is the best printer I've ever owned, by a lot. Its flawless. Good quality construction. Refilling the toner is easy as well, Ive used InkOwl.com for replacement toner and its very inexpensive and it works just like the Canon brand toner. I have absolutely no complaints about this printer.
Pros -3 years of warranty
-Prints on both sides of the paper
-Is compatible with high yield toner cartridges
-Has a large paper capacity
Cons -A hassle to setup compared to my old HP multifunction.
-The software provided with the printer is not compatible with OS X Mountain Lion.
-The software downloaded from the support page crashes my Mac.
-Does not include interface cables.
Summary When I came into the store, an employe showed me how fast this I couldn't even turn on this piece of junk. The software on the disk was not compatible with Mac OS 10.8, so I had to download the drivers from the support page, but the wireless setup tool causes a kernel panic every time I connect a USB cable, which I had to buy, and the OS has to restart. I couldn't even set it up with my brother's Windows 8 machine. It is a real bummer because It seamed awesome at the store.
Pros small and cheap
Cons this printer should not be rated "best" in its class by cnet as it will not work over wifi with new macs - the driver is not available yet
Pros Fast and cheap
Cons Was not immediately compatible with Mac OS 10.7.4.... needed to download CUPS and then restart computer. More importantly, the fan will run for up to 15 minutes (with a low pitched hum) even after printing just one page... they say "this is normal"
Summary Can only give it 2 stars. The hum of the fan is very annoying in a home office. Good news -- so inexpensive ($109 at Staples) that it can be a giveaway or donation if necessary....
