"Almost 7 Year and No Problems" on by Timbeka
Pros: Incredible stamina for a printer. Durable, dependable. Toner lasts FOREVER.
Cons: Size is a bit on the bulky side, no wireless.
Summary: I've had the 5040 for almost seven years and today was the first time it's given me a serious trouble...the paper won't feed in correctly from the default tray. Any other "glitches" have been those common to all printers and those have been very few and far between. I've only replaced the toner three times since I started using it, and my wife uses it for her small business for printing all sorts of materials. I can't overstate how great this computer is. I also disagree with the review that the graphics on it are mediocre...I've found them to be quite sharp and good.

"Hot Damn: No-Jam Bulletproof Workhorse for Cheap" on by garygladstone
Pros: Never jams, Cheap and trustworthy, easy envelopes, Mac Friendly
Cons: Halftones get a little blocked up .
Summary: Nothing this cheap (under $200.) has ever worked so well (four years!) in this office before. It's a workhorse and never complains. Quick and clean type, small footprint, easy setup on Mac networks. Bone simple and reliable. I'm buying another just because it's so cheap I can afford a back-up in case the cat wrestles it to the floor.

"Don't get it!" on
Pros: cheap
Cons: Paper jams frequently enough for me to get rid of it- worst of any printer I have owned.

"Better hope the red light doesn't go on." on
Cons: We bought this for our small office 6 months ago, and have had nothing but headaches. After 4 replacements from the company it is still not working correctly. I'd look elsewhere for a printer.

"manual printing sucks" on
Pros: good text print quality
Cons: Repeatedly have problems manually printing envelopes. Prints okay for a few envelopes then the out of paper lights up and it stops printing. The only way to continue printing is to cancel all print jobs and start all over. Ditto for long text print jobs s
