"Disappointing Printer"
Pros: Nice color and quality.
Cons: Printing is shifted on both sides with the duplexer.
Summary: We were very excited about this print until we started printing duplexed color reports and brochures. The printer does not print in accordance with the margins of your application. Whatever you print on page one is shifted down and to the right and does not match the margins of page two.
The end result is that when you turn the pages on a report or brochure, the content on facing pages do not line up and look very unprofessional.
We ordered our 3100cn and exchanged it for a new one thinking the product may have been defective. When the second one came, we have the same results. We upgraded the firmware and drivers and spent hours with Dell engineers.
We then took the duplexer off the printer and tried one sided color printing, but the content was always shifted down and to the right.
Ultimately, we decided to return it. We are still in the market for a good entry level color printer with duplexing, but one that outputs with proper margins.
If you just want an office printer to make internal documents, this might be fine, but this printer is no good if you want to produce documents that you want clients or outside organizations to see ? especially with duplexing.

I was trying to print a color document and received an out of memory error and I cannot clear the memory to continue printing. I have turned off the printer and the computer but the error remains.

I read about the fix for your problem on another board - it looks like you may have posted there too.
You have to go into the printing preferences and click on the ?paper? tab. Click on the Margin/Shift margin button. Click on the Print position tab and make sure your position is set to ?centered?. I was having this same problem until I changed this and it is now fixed. -
