"Best value in printers I know of"
Pros: Cheap to operate long-term
Cons: Slow to cancel print documents
Summary: I am replacing one of these printers today for the first time. I have probably put 50 cases of paper through it. I have 3 of these at my church office, and have never had a problem with them. I've been using these printers for nearly 3 years now. Toner can be purchased (rated at 6000 copies) online for as little as $150 for SIX cartridges with free shipping. Drums are available for as little as $69 with free shipping. Drums are good for about 25,000 copies. Do the math. I know of no better value. Performance is enhanced with adding the 32 meg RAM chip (available at e-bay for $6.95 + shipping). If the printer goes bad, just replace it. You can buy it for $89.95 plus shipping, and it comes with new drum and a starter toner cartridge good for about 2,000 copies. Who can beat a deal like this!
My only complaint with this printer is that when you send something to print and say, "Oops! I didn't need 50 of that!" When you try to cancel you can waste a lot of paper fast. Tip: open the paper drawer on the printer quick so it can't feed more. Then switch the printer off for a few seconds while you cancel the document on the computer. Switch the printer back on and you're good to go.
