Pros: Surprisingly quick warm up, great text, descent price
Cons: No manual paper feeder for envelopes, specialty paper, etc.
Summary: I was quite taken back by the quick warm up speed of the 2600n. I was a bit skeptical of this printer especially because of the CNET rating, but saw positive user feedback, and I'm so glad I went through with the purchase.
This color does great text print, pretty good graphics. I use it for my home office to print out color proofs of web and print work for clients and I am extremely happy with it. My home office is set up with 2 Power Mac PC's and 1 regular PC - I set this printer up so all computers can use it via the ethernet connection - setup time for this printer was a breeze. All the default settings were set to automatic, and so it was quickly found on my home network.
The size is quite large, but very practical, and has a modern shape. Overall I give it a 9/10. I'd recommend this printer to anyone from home office to small office who prints semi often/often.
Hope this helps!
It's been about a month or more since I've gotten the printer and all is true to what I previously mentioned. There is however one major exciting discovery I made, which I mentioned the printer being without previously. This is the single sheet feeder. The printer does have one after all! Not only that - it's a very sophisticated one. For example when I'm printing single envelopes, I feed the envelope through a feeder at the bottom, the printer then grabs it and positions it - and you press print. Pretty snazzy if you ask me.
Just wanted to share with everybody... hope it helps.
