"Really like machine, more suitable for home use" on by dubhanMac
Pros: duplexer, full cartridges, single pass, reliable
Cons: a bit slow, hard to read lcd at first until get used to it
Summary: I have the dn (no slots). It came ready to work. Took little time to set up. Worked like a charm, 1st time every time. The color and black and white look fine on ordinary paper. I replaced a Samsung clp 500. This is much better. I had no problem setting it up to my LinkSys wireless system and can print from laptop any room in the house. I found a 3rd party to upgrade memory to max without a problem.

"Repeated flaw occuring" on by cpatrone
Pros: Good print speed and quality
Cons: There is a problem with printing reds. After a few months, a flaw develops and it does not print true color. The interior of the printer fills up with red toner . The black cart. leaves a gray film on the paper when printing without color..
Summary: I had to have the first one replaced due to a fault with the red ink cart. The reds do not print true color. The interior of the printer was full of red toner. The second printer has the exact same flaw, but the replacement printer only had a 30 day warranty and didn't last the first year. Out of the 2 printers, neither lasted a full year. I have a home office and the printer is not used heavily. After a short time, there is a constant problem with getting just a clean copy using gray scale printing. That has been 2 printers in less than 2 years and both had the same flaw. I contacted HP and they did nothing.

"It's rubbish!" on by MrsC60
Pros: Prints well when brand new
Cons: Supplied with minimal toner. As soon it showed the low toner message I replaced (2 colors) at a cost of nearly the new printer price with GENUINE HP TONER CARTRIDGES. The printer didn't register the replacement but kept saying those colors were empty, and
Summary: I would warn everyone not to buy HP printers. Older types seemed to be reliable. Newer HP models malfunction and support is non-existent.

"Very Poor Product, Support Non Existant, Color Poor" on by Nickfla
Pros: Not much good to say
Cons: Print color and quality extremly poor, reset to defult, changes all cartridges twice at great expense to no avail.
Summary: Would not recommend HP, had problems with products in the past and will not buy again. Customer service is non existant. Now left with new cartridges and can not get rid of them. Reds are pink and printing is not of true color. For what I spent on the printer and cartridges since purchased coupled with the number of print pages, it would be cheaper to buy an ink jet and get copies printed at Kinkos!

"HUGE COLOR TONER WASTE" on by natchoman
Pros: Prints well enough
Cons: Eats color toner even when you only print black and white. Very slow warmup and response time.
Summary: I have had trouble with inkjet printers in the past because I rarely printed in color and the color cartridge would always dry up. So the store recommended that I go with laser. Turns out that even though I print black and white all the time the color cartridges are still "spinning" and eating toner according to the HP service guy that I spoke with. I am a light user and after going through 2 black cartridge replacements the three color cartridges ran out even though I had printed maybe FIVE PAGES in color. Now the printer won't let me print black and white unless I purchase $225 worth of color cartridges. REDICULOUS!!
