"just what i needed"
Pros: small, quiet, fast, reliable, nice print
Cons: software could be better designed
Summary: I'm a graduate student and wanted a printer that would produce high-quality black white material reasonably quickly. I also wanted double-sided printing. I didn't want to pay a lot for features I didn't need that much (high speed, color). I've been extremely impressed with this machine. I've had no problems with software or hardware (one paper jam in six months) and was pleasantly surprised that it makes no sound when not engaged, ie you can't tell it's on except for the light unless it's printing.
My only criticism is that the software seems a little under-designed. This is partly aesthetics (very low-tech message box) but also the messages you get when you print on both sides seem somehow poorly-timed (why two messages, anyway?), and canceling a print job usually doesn't work (not sure how much this is Windows' fault).
I can't make detailed comparisons with other current models (this is why I didn't give it a 10) but am very happy with this product and expect that you will be too.
