"Beware of these printers"
Pros: Fast and inexpensive
Cons: High failure rate
Summary: We have about 10 of these in our office. All of them have had problems.
3 started leaking toner within 2 weeks, all of them intermitantly give error messages (printer locks up, error on the LCD. Only a power off will fix it)
The drivers that came with them will not collate properly (make sure you get updated drivers)
We just tracked down a supplier with OLD 2300d printers that we are going to buy. These 2420's are crap, I wish they didn't discontinue the 2300 series as we've had about 35 of them since they came out. Not a single problem.
2100 - Paper pickup issues, bad fusers
2200d - Paper pickup issues, bad scanners
2300 - NO PROBLEMS
2420 - Driver issues, leaking toner, random errors
And to top it all off, HP wants us to pay for shipping to get these NEW printers serviced.
