Pros Cheap and Works well....for a while.
Cons I have had these printers for 3 years now and the formatter board has failed in 12 of them. 10 were covered under the extended warranty and 2 have failed in the last month since that extended warranty ran out.
Summary Should be recalled!
Pros Good laser quality
Cons This printer will fail guaranteed. Formatter boards are all flawed and will fail.
Summary Has a flaw in the formatter board. HP knows about this but will not recall or fix it for free. The repair will cost in excess of $225.00. This printer will fail, guaranteed. Only a 1 year warranty on a "Business Class" printer? I don't think so. I still have HP LaserJet4 printers working 18 years later, and this one didn't make it 11 months. Scary thing is I have 10 of these, and they are all gonna fail, and I will have to replace them, or fix them after less than a year's service. Way to go HP! Way to back up your products! So disappointing...
Pros Worked fine up until then for simple black and white printing
Cons Once the formatter board goes....and it will. You are out of luck.
No help from HP once warranty runs out.
Summary Had the printer for 14 months. Worked fine up until then for simple black and white printing...nothing fancy. But last week out of the blue the computer no longer recognized printer. Had our IT department look at the printer and they determined the printer's formatter board was dead. IT rep said "A new formatter board will cost around $200 which makes it not worth repairing. I would suggest purchasing a new printer, but not this model. Every P2015 the university has purchased in the last year has died due to the formatter board." Some people get lucky and it dies within the warranty period. I was not. I am only 2 months out of warranty and HP would do nothing to help me. They acted like I was the only one to ever call in response to a bad formatter board. Google "HP laserjet p2015 formatter board problem" and you will see that I am not alone. I had not even used up the original print cartridge yet. HP's Tech support response, "That's unfortunate, I can set you up to purchase a new one today." My response was not family friendly. I will NOT be purchasing an HP printer again. Don't waste your money either.

Pros Ready from the get go - no warmup time!
Cons Could use bigger paper trays
Summary Gotta love HP's instant on fuser technology that so many overlook. Sleep mode 7 Watts, Print mode 350 Watts. No warmup time. Don't underestimate this fact. In the real world, when you hit the print button, you'll get your first page within 8.5 seconds while some of even the new printers still use older fuser technology which can take one or more minutes while the fuser is warming up.
Make sure you check the spec sheet for first page out & power consumption. Sorry if I seem partial to HP but I am.
